User Interviews

The interviews covered several important aspects related to the moving experience, online moving resources, job searches, community research, challenges and opportunities, user experience, privacy, and closing thoughts. Below are the key takeaways from the interview:

Topics Explored:

  • Motivations, challenges, considerations for choosing a new location, and online resources used

Key Takeaways:

  • Considerations for choosing a new home included cost of living, safety, proximity to work, schools, and amenities. Job opportunities were evaluated based on industry demand, job market conditions, and career alignment

3. This research led me to identify three key questions that needed to be explored:

  • How might we enhance the user experience of online relocation platforms to make the process of finding a new home and job more intuitive and personalized, while maintaining ease of use for all users?

  • How might we build trust and ensure data privacy for users on online moving platforms by implementing robust privacy protection measures and transparent data usage policies, especially for sharing sensitive personal information?

  • How might we provide users with more comprehensive and unique insights about communities and cities they are considering for relocation, offering data on schools, crime rates, real estate trends, and community reviews to help them make well-informed decisions?

With that, the idea of

What does the app do?

1. Focus on finding the right fit when it comes to your move

The first step is to tell it a little about yourself. The app will ask you a few quick questions to understand what kind of environment you're looking for.

2. Fine-tune your preferences

Once you've shared your general vibe, the app lets you get specific. Think noise level, commute options, or nearby amenities – you can dial in exactly what matters to you.

3. Match Made!

Based on your preferences, the app will recommend neighborhoods that fit the bill. You can then explore these neighborhoods in more detail and find your perfect match!

You can then dive deeper into these neighborhoods to discover city demographics, the job market, school districts (if applicable), upcoming events and happenings, and more – all in one place! This lets you compare and contrast different areas to find the perfect fit for your lifestyle.
